More of the Good Stuff- DX:HR- The Missing Link

Deus Ex: Human Revolution has only been out for about two months, and the first DLC pack, The Missing Link, is out.  How does it add to the game?  More importantly, is it any good?  Read on to find out!

The Missing Link takes place  at an interesting point, about three quarters through Human Revolution's story.  It takes place and, interestingly, is never mentioned again in the main story.  But who cares?  It kicks ass, and it's inclusion is plausible in the overall plot, thought the effects that this will have on the story as a whole remain to be seen. I'll try to avoid spoilers, but it's going to be tricky, so be on the lookout for my warning!

That'll buff out, right?
Adam Jensen has been captured.  He's strapped into a chair that's reset almost all of his augmentations, and he's being given the rough stuff by his captors.  He's fucked.  Right?  This would be a damn short DLC pack if that were true.  Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that Jensen shortly finds himself free.  One of the cool things about TML is that, since Jensen's augs have all been reset, you're free to level him up in any way you like!  I really enjoyed that, since it meant that I wasn't chained in any way to the way I'd played DX:HR, and I could try things a bit differently.

Jensen, on the prowl.
In many ways, TML feels a lot like a standalone mission.  It provides a short, complete adventure, with some great twists.  Everything dovetails nicely with the main plot.  Really, TML contains everything that DX:HR does, just all in a more condensed package.  Hacking? Plenty.  Combat? Loads.  Sneaky stuff?  Totally.   I really love the world that Eidos created with DX:HR and I really wanted to dive back in.  TML provides everything that I loved about HR.

OMFG!!1!one! FUCKING SPOILERS
             AHEAD!!!!!!!!!

A lot of people really hated the weird, outsourced boss fights in HR.  Eidos made a big deal out of the fact that they built the boss fight in TML in house.  It's a bit underwhelming, to be honest.  Hardly a boss fight at all, really.  Bad guy went out like a bitch......
END SPOILERS

Deus Ex: The Missing Link brings back everything that you loved from HR, and also everything you hated.  Whether or not you should by it depends on your reaction to that statement.
