  1. For relevancy, if there is any Modern Warfare games it will now be ODST side offs, spin offs, and prequels. Overall for FPSes the cycle of extinction seems faster than other genres. For example Wolfenstein is 19 years old, but the Wolfenstein game that was released in 2009 faded into obscurity.

While not mentioned, Half Life will last a while since Episode 3 or Half Life 3 will take a long time to complete.

I see Elder Scrolls and GTA lasting since it is 2 to 3 main installment games a decade, which will make it sustainable in the future.

I don't see Assasssins Creed lasting since everything about the game is leading to the December 2012 end of the world scenario. It will just be spin offs.

  2. As always, a great listen.

If you guys end up shy on content, let me know and I'll write up something about some other game you'll never want to play.

  3. @ Turbo- I agree with you on Assassin's Creed, unless they decide to do a bunch of spinoffs or prequels or something. Didn't they originally say that AC was supposed to be a trilogy?

  5. @Rockmotron

The Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelations was supposed to be the Ezio Trilogy and that will be the end of Ezio story arc. It was also the end of the Altair story arc.

But if there was new Assassins Creed games in new historical locales, they can do away with the Animus all together without a Desmond or present day character and play in the past. Whether Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Medieval China, French Revolution, Russian Revolution, American Revolution, 30 years War, Assyrian conquest and so on.

  6. It's a shame that Ubisoft took so long making the Ezio trilogy, that they now have to end the Desmond story with AssCreed 3 next year. I'd have loved to see Egypt, or Greece, or Mayan adventures of Assassin characters. Hopefully, the series will continue after the 2012/ Desmond story ends.

  7. Counting release time, it only took Ubisoft 3 years to finish the Ezio Trilogy, you wanted 3 of those games released in 18 months instead of 24?

  8. No. I didnt want a trilogy of Ezio. They should have gone straight into AssCreed 3 and finished the Desmond 2012 story. That would have given them YEARS to craft AssCreed 3, rather than poop it out next year.

I'd still like to see those other locales with other people in the Animus.

  9. You play as Desmond's son who is in the animus controlling Desmond. Collect all glyphs in AC Brotherhood.

2012 not as important as it is made to be - therefore Ubisoft can make more Assassins Creed games.

I think the dude in question that made the comments about piracy and 50000 made an error due to an English-as-a-second-language issue; he apparently clarified after the brouhaha.
