The Nostalgia Dirigible: Old Game Commercials

If you're looking for nostalgia, you've come to the right place. Today we're taking a look at some old video game commercials, and you might be surprised who's in them...

First up, we have a classic from the Winter of 1991. A glorious time of Starter jackets, Zubazz pants, and, for me, second grade.

If you watched closely, you MIGHT have recognized a major Hollywood actor in that clip. That's right, Paul Rudd, who is also widely known as the man of my dreams. He has starred or appeared in so many of my favorite movies, that I have taken out a permanent "hall pass" on Mr. Rudd. He's so dreamy.

Next, we have a commercial for something decidedly less successful than the Super Nintendo: the Atari Lynx. The Lynx was a handheld that ate batteries and had a very small library of games. That didn't stop Atari from producing this classic in 1990.

You saw correctly, that was Spider-Man himself, Tobey Maguire, rocking out the Lynx while also taking a dump. And you thought Spider-Man 3 was the worst it got.

Finally, we have this recent ad for the Nintendo DS:

I don't really have anything to say about this, other than the fact the Nicole Kidman is a very, um, talented actress.

Christopher Linendoll can poop out an article with the best of them. Follow him on Twitter, or find him in the hummus section of your local grocery store.
