KGB Surveillance: The Forest
Rock and Pat take a walk through the insanely creepy survival horror game, The Forest. It's kind of like That Terrible M. Night Shyamalan Movie, only , you know, actually pretty scary.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Hands-On First Impressions
The Metal Gear series is straight-up bananas. The newest game in the franchise, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a side story of sorts, a frantic action game from Platinum Games. We spent some time with the demo recently, and here's our thoughts.

Game of the Year 2012: John Newby
It seems to me that 2012 has been the year of the assassin. Games like Assassins Creed III, Dishonored, Hitman: Absolution, and Lego Lord of the Rings (just trust me) have all focused on the art of silent murder. Additionally, games like The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and Mark of the Ninja feature assassinations as central plot points. It would only make sense that my game of the year for 2012, Dishonored, is all about assassinating enemies.

Game of the Year 2012: AGTurbo
2012 was an amazing year, of surprising games. No game surprised and amazed me like Max Payne 3: my Game of the Year.
When I first saw the trailers of Max Payne 3 I was disappointed that it took place in Sao Paulo, he was bald, and the trailers consisted nothing but shooting, that there was a cover system, and was a complete affront of the series. Further I progressed in Max Payne 3 the more I enjoyed it. I have beat the single player 4 times, beat the game on New York Minute, and legend twice on multiplayer. With no doubt I give Max Payne 3 my GAME OF THE YEAR.

Game of the Year 2012: Chris Linendoll
If you were to ask me at this time last year what I'd choose as 2012's Game of the Year, XCOM: Enemy Unknown probably wouldn't even cross my mind. To be honest, I was pretty excited for the XCOM FPS that was (is?) in development at 2K Marin. I've never played the previous, classic XCOM games, and I haven't touched strategy games since the late 90s. But, somehow, XCOM: Enemy Unknown is unquestionably my Game of the Year.

The Garden of Eden: Assassin's Creed III Review
Utterly. Batshit.
Insane. There is really no other way to convey the wild storytelling of
Assassin’s Creed III. After spending the past three games with Ezio Auditore,
ACIII finally introduces new protagonists, not the mention an entire New World.
The time-bending meta-story of Desmond Miles is also heavily featured,
eventually wrapping itself around into the present day. Multiple location
shifts span decades, making Assassin’s Creed III feel like the most expansive
entry yet.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown- Hands On First Impressions
For most of his life, Rock has been intensely interested in the subject of UFOs. Before video games, comic books, movies, music..almost other hobbies came into his life, he was into UFOs. So it should surprise no one that he was incredibly excited to play a game that let him take the lead in defending Earth from nefarious beings from outer space. Rock recently got some hands on time with the demo for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and he likes what he saw. Time to die, alien scum!

Inside Man: Sleeping Dogs Review
Sleeping Dogs has the distinction of possibly having the most convoluted journey to store shelves that has ever produced a quality game. Just this past year, we saw an example of what typically happens when a game with a troubled development cycle is finally released: the abysmal Duke Nukem Forever. Put that abomination out of your mind, though, as Sleeping Dogs rises from the ashes to reach amazing heights. United Front Games and Square Enix have given us one of the best open world experiences of this generation.

Hands-On First Impressions: Spec Ops: The Line
Oh boy, here we go. Another third person shooter, complete with cover mechanics, macho alpha males, and douchechill-inducing American patriotism. To be totally honest, those were my exact thoughts when I first heard of Spec Ops: The Line, and had written the game off as decidedly "not for me" pretty long ago. I don't tend to enjoy games outside of my comfort zone of the action-adventure and grappling sports entertainment genres. Shooters for me are simply too chaotic, too jock-tacular for me to ever really get into, outside of some of the true standouts in that space. Much to my surprise, I found Spec Ops to be completely enjoyable.
