The Shame of it All: My Stack of Unplayed Games

Sometimes being a gamer means knowing when to throw in the towel. Some games are simply never going to get played, much less beaten. However, even that understanding usually isn't enough to stop you from buying those Clearance Sale treasures. And garage sales? They are veritable gold mines just waiting to be ransacked. But what happens when those neglected games start piling up? Will you ever get around to actually playing them? Chris takes a hard look in the mirror, at his stash of unplayed games, and how he got to this point.

Parallel Paths: How Nintendo, Marvel Comics, and the WWE Lost Their Audience. And How They're Winning Them Back.

Videogames, pro wrestling, and comic books all played a huge part in my childhood, and continue to entertain me to this day. That’s not to say there haven’t been very serious ups-and-downs in my fandom over the past 25 years. All of these products have experienced incredible highs, and dismal failures in their recent history. What you may not realize is just how similar of paths they’ve all taken to their current success. It seems almost cosmic in a way, as if God Himself is a giant friggin’ dork.

THQ To Release WWE Wrestlefest this Tuesday

In news that I'm sure is only exciting to me, it seems there is another WWE game on its' way very soon. Like, this week. THQ plans to release WWE Wrestlefest, an arcade wrestling game featuring cartoonish versions of WWE Superstars. And possibly on a console near you.

Macho Man likes to watch.

You might remember Wrestlefest from its' original 1992 release in arcades. That game was a staple in my neck of the woods, often commanding crowds as large as those that gathered around Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. That game featured 6-man battle royals, tag matches, as well as one-on-one matches. The roster was full of legends, such as KGB favorite Macho Man Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, and Jake The Snake.

360!

The forthcoming version of WWE Wrestlefest will feature several of the original legends, as well as newer stars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and John "Fruity Pebbles" Cena. For now, the game is only announced for iOS and mobile devices. However, several tweets from people inside THQ have pointed to Wrestlefest heading to XBLA and PSN. Expect an official announcement this Tuesday, when the mobile version becomes available.

Now if only they'd add Razor Ramon.

PUT HIM IN THE DAMN GAME!!!
