Game of the Year 2012: Rock
This year was pretty tough. We had plenty of fantastic games this year, as well as some highly-anticipated bombs. I actually spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out which game I loved most this year, and I finally decided on XCOM: Enemy Unknown. No other game this year hooked me as well as XCOM. As a person who really hates strategy games, this surprised the shit out of me. But the game's excellent presentation, easy to learn tactics, and wonderful base building and research elements were just about a perfect combination for me.

Known Griefers Discusses the WarZ Situation
If you've been anywhere near the Internet in the past 48 hours, you've presumably heard some rumblings about WarZ. The zombie survival game launched on Steam earlier this week, and quickly shot up the best-selling charts. Some players felt misled by the game's...less than factual description, though.

Today in Kickstarter: Code Hero Dev Takes the Money and Runs *UPDATED*
Stop me if you've heard this one before: There's something fishy going on with a game-related Kickstarter. It seems like Code Hero, a programming tool/game from Primer Labs, was funded nearly $170,000; and nothing has come of it. Time to lawyer up!

The Garden of Eden: Assassin's Creed III Review
Utterly. Batshit.
Insane. There is really no other way to convey the wild storytelling of
Assassin’s Creed III. After spending the past three games with Ezio Auditore,
ACIII finally introduces new protagonists, not the mention an entire New World.
The time-bending meta-story of Desmond Miles is also heavily featured,
eventually wrapping itself around into the present day. Multiple location
shifts span decades, making Assassin’s Creed III feel like the most expansive
entry yet.

Cinema Junk: Resident Evil: Retribution
*SPOILERS* As a warning, there are spoilers in this review. More to accent the pure idiocy of the film, and the inconsistencies. As I consider there to be little story anyways I feel it might be a useless warning. But if it's to save someone the grief of walking out of the theatre with $10 less in their wallets going "What in the fuck?!" I feel spoiling this pile of cinematic garbage is worth it.

A Very Late, and Far Too Personal Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Review
While very late, Chris had a lot to say about Robomodo's recent release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD. The original games have become celebrated classics, and THPS HD looks to introduce those games to a new generation. Or perhaps to sell those games again to nostalgic twentysomethings? Either way, it's not very good. Read on for a very long and rambling look at what exactly went so wrong here.

Price Dropasaurus: Shadows of the Damned
When Shadows of the Damned released in June of 2011, it did two things: It won critics over, earning almost universal praise, and it proceeded to sell worse than televisions in an Amish community. Well Rock is here now to tell you why this gem is worth your time, especially now that the price been slashed significantly.

Inside Man: Sleeping Dogs Review
Sleeping Dogs has the distinction of possibly having the most convoluted journey to store shelves that has ever produced a quality game. Just this past year, we saw an example of what typically happens when a game with a troubled development cycle is finally released: the abysmal Duke Nukem Forever. Put that abomination out of your mind, though, as Sleeping Dogs rises from the ashes to reach amazing heights. United Front Games and Square Enix have given us one of the best open world experiences of this generation.
